Why this blog?

Why this blog?

I take a lot of photos and wanted some organized / chronological journal of what I've seen, done, thought and felt - maybe share it.

I wanted something better than a photo album on Google Photos. It is challenging to caption, comment and write observations on images in Google Photos. Albums are not connected to other albums. Linking is challenging.

With this blog I can send people to one post and they can jump to other posts if they want to.

I like that I can tag my posts by topic. It makes it easy to find related subject matter.

I like the chronological feel of a blog as opposed to a bunch of scattered, uncollected photo albums.

I wanted a platform that was quick and easy. I've created dozens of websites, but they are not nimble, quick or easy to post. When the platform makes it challenging to post, I tend not to post.

I wanted something that I could post from multiple platforms easily

I wanted something that was easy to work with images. This blog is connected to a photo source that is easy to work with. Nothing discourages me from posting more than having to download images from my camera, organize them, edit them and deliver them to the blog. UG! I wanted a quick and nimble workflow that wouldn't discourage me from posting.

Unlike some of my other endeavors and projects, I don't have an audience in mind and am not promoting this blog much. I'm writing primarily for myself as a creative outlet.

I'm going to write about things that I'm interested in. Who I am, what I see, do, think and feel. It may not be marketable or click-worthy, but it's me.

I'll sometimes share a link, to a post, to specific people if I think it's relevant and they might find it interesting.

Why should you follow? Eh, I dunno. Maybe you'll find something that I write about interesting, something that resonates with you. It might not be worth your time, then again, maybe it is.
